Resurfacing and replastering
Plaster wears out. North Texas hard water and long, hot summers speed that up, until the surface turns rough, blotchy or porous. We drain the pool, remove the failing finish, repair cracks in the shell, and apply a new interior finish — so it is smooth underfoot and watertight again.

Waterline tile and coping
Tile and coping take the most sun and the most splash. When tile cracks or pops loose, or coping lifts and fades, the edge of the pool stops protecting the shell. We replace both, and it is often the single change that makes an older pool look current.

Pool deck resurfacing
A cracked or stained deck ages the whole backyard, and bare concrete gets hot. Depending on the condition of your slab, we refinish it with a Cool Deck system or replace it with pavers, travertine or porcelain — graded so water runs away from the pool and the house.

How do I know if my pool needs resurfacing?
The clearest signs are a rough or chalky surface that scratches feet, stains that will not brush or scrub out, visible cracks, and water loss beyond normal evaporation. If you are seeing more than one of these across the pool, it is usually time to resurface rather than patch.
What is the difference between a pool repair and a pool renovation?
A repair fixes one problem on an otherwise sound pool — a failed pump, a small leak, a few loose tiles. A renovation addresses several problems at once, such as worn plaster, failing tile and coping, and a cracked deck, so the pool is drained once and rebuilt in the right order.
What does a pool renovation include?
It depends on the pool. A renovation can include resurfacing the interior, replacing waterline tile and coping, resurfacing or replacing the deck, repairing cracks and leaks, and upgrading pumps, filters, heaters and automation. We inspect first and put the scope in writing.
Can you resurface a pool deck without replacing it?
Often, yes. If the existing slab is sound, it can usually be refinished with a Cool Deck system. If it is cracked or uneven, replacing it with pavers, travertine or porcelain is usually the better choice. We check the slab and the drainage before recommending either.
Can you add a spa or water feature to an existing pool?
In many cases, yes. A spa, spillover or water feature can often be added during a renovation after a structural review confirms the existing shell can support it.

How long does a pool renovation take?
It depends on the scope, the finishes you choose and the weather. We give you a schedule with your written plan and keep you updated from drain to refill.
What does a pool renovation cost?
It depends on the size of the pool, its current condition, and which services it needs — resurfacing, tile and coping, decking and equipment all price differently. We inspect the pool and put a written price on paper rather than guessing sight unseen. Financing is available through Lyon Financial, which acts as a facilitator and is not a lender or a broker.
Do you renovate pools you did not build?
Yes. Many of the pools we renovate came with the house. We assess the existing structure, surface and equipment before recommending any work.
How should I prepare for a pool renovation?
Clear furniture, planters and anything stored near the pool deck so the crew has clean access. We walk you through anything specific to your yard, such as gate access for equipment, during the assessment.
